Our Director
Larry Pearen is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts Degrees, a Post Graduate Diploma in Educational Administration from the University of Regina and has taken graduate classes from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, and the University of North Dakota. A clinician, adjudicator, and educator, Mr. Pearen was responsible for all bands at the Yorkton Regional High School. He retired on June 26, 2003 and currently directs two Community Adult Bands (concert and jazz) on Monday evenings. His bands have traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States including a performance in the 1998 Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena, California on New Years Day, one of only two non American bands invited, the other from Thailand. His bands have performed at Disneyland, and Universal Studios California, MGM Theme Park in Las Vegas, Disney World, and Universal Studios Florida. Yorkton bands under his direction have performed in four Canadian Football League Grey Cup Pre Game and Half Time Shows with performances in many nationally televised parades including the Calgary Stampede and Exhibition.
